Q: Do stink bugs sting or bite?
A: No. The brown marmorated stink bug does not have the physical capacity to sting or bite. Their only means of defense is their characteristic “stink”.
The stink bug earned its name from its tendency to release an odor when disturbed or when crushed.
The brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) is considered an invasive species, or a pest of foreign origin, as it was introduced to the United States from Eastern Asia in the mid-1990s. Stinkbugs can only be effectively treated in late summer/early fall before they have completely invaded your space.
